Food Rules You Should Follow This Winter
Follow these food rules during winter and stay healthy and happy throughout the season.
Why should you have certain food rules for winter? This is because with the change of season, the needs of your body also change. Winter brings with it certain challenges that your body must react to. To combat these challenges, your body must be healthy and strong.

One way to do this is to eat a well-balanced diet during winter. Read on to know what you should eat during winter.

1. Include Amino Acids In Your Diet:
If you are feeling dull and low during winter, the one thing that you need to do is up your serotonin level, a chemical that lifts up your mood. A diet rich in tryptophan can do the trick. Amino acids are a rich source of tryptophan. These can be found in beans, spinach, kale, sea fish, sea vegetables, etc.

2. Include Vitamin D Rich Foods:
As days get shorter during winter and you hardly get to go out in the sun with your busy work schedule, you might always end up indoors. This might cause you some deficiency in vitamin D. Hence, stock up on vitamin D rich foods during winter. Seafoods, especially salmon is rich in vitamin D. This will keep your mood stable as well.

3. Eat Fruits & Vegetables:
Eat fruits and vegetables of various colours to give a boost to your immune system. These are rich in minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals that help to fight diseases. So eat carrots, cauliflowers, spinach, bell peppers, apples, pomegranates, etc. to stay healthy.

4. Include Vitamin C In Your Diet:
Have a vitamin C rich diet to fight off infections like cough and cold and give a boost to your immune system. Antioxidants present in these vitamin C rich fruits and vegetables like oranges, grapefruit and bell pepper help to protect you from the cold during winter.

5. Eat Probiotics:
To keep your gut happy, load in lots of healthy bacteria in the form of probiotics. This will keep your gut healthy and your overall health in good shape.

6. Include Complex Carbs In Diet:
To keep your blood sugar levels stable during winter, have a diet rich in complex carbs like whole grain cereals and lean protein like chicken.
