Foods That Cause Inflammation
Inflammation, in common man’s terms, can be described as a process where the white blood cells and the immune proteins help to protect the body from any infection by foreign bodies like bacteria and virus.
But, in some cases the body triggers an inflammatory response even when there is no infection or foreign body to fight, where the immune system is a threat to its own tissues. This makes the body to respond to the normal tissue as if they were triggers.
There are various types of diseases that are related to inflammation like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and gouty arthritis. The symptoms of inflammation are redness, joint swelling, joint pain, joint stiffness and loss of joint function; you can also have flu like symptoms.
HOW TO STICK TO DIETING WHILE EATING OUT?
When inflammation occurs, this can cause the release of chemicals into the blood and tissues, which can cause irritation of the joint and wearing down of the cartilage and swelling on the joint.
As a result this can also affect the internal organs as a part of auto immune disorder. Hence care should be taken to avoid inflammations. There are a few foods causing inflammation and they needs to be avoided.

Fried and Processed foods
These are a group of foods causing inflammation. Studies have shown that fried foods and frozen meat have a great effect on the inflammation as this will only aggravate it. So, when your doctor says that you have an inflammation in your joints, try to avoid any frozen meat and fried stuff. This will not only help with the inflammation, but also with restoring the body's fighting mechanisms.
Advanced Glycation End (AGE) Products
AGE is present in most of the food that are heated, grilled, fried or pasteurized. When they are introduced into the body, the body tries to break them with cytokins which are inflammatory messengers, therefore causing inflammation where they occur. Hence these are foods causing inflammation in joints and needs to be avoided.
Sugar and Refined Carbs
Baked goods, candy, processed food, sodas all these also have a high AGE factor. This when broken down in the body will cause arthritis pain. Therefore these are foods causing inflammation and can be avoided to help ease your arthritis pain. Having a limited quantity of these foods is the key, so that you can enjoy your food and at the same time, not worry about the inflamed joint.
Dairy Products
These are another group of foods causing inflammation. This is due to the fact that the arthritis may sometime depend on the type of protein that is being consumed. For a few number of people, the dairy products could cause an irritation near the joints where they can switch to a vegan diet to ease their pain.
Alcohol and Tobacco
Apart from many other health problems, consumption of alcohol and the usage of tobacco could affect your joints. Smokers have a higher chance that they will develop rheumatoid arthritis and alcoholics can have gout. A healthy joint requires good diet, physical exercise and clean habits. Therefore, try to avoid alcohol and tobacco at any cost.
