7 Best Natural Solutions To Try For Dry Eyes!
Say goodbye to annoying eye dryness with the help of these home remedies.
The eyes are one of the most important organs of the body which enable vision; we all know that. So, you would also know that keeping your eyes safe and healthy is of utmost importance.
So, if you are someone who travels in the polluted air often or uses gadgets like the computer or phone on a daily basis, especially for long hours, then you could be putting the health of your eyes at risk.
Now, if you have been experiencing dryness or irritation of the eyes lately, you could be suffering from a condition known as 'dry eyes syndrome', which is rather common in most working people and students today.

Dry eyes can be best described as a condition in which the tear glands are unable to produce enough moisture for your eyes, making your eyes dry and irritable.
Also, the tear ducts may become inflamed, further worsening the symptoms of dry eyes. 'Dry eyes' is a condition that cannot be cured; however, its symptoms can be treated to reduce the irritation.
Dry eyes can affect any person, regardless of age or gender; however, it is seen more commonly in professionals who work with computers, and in post-menopausal woman and people who are exposed to excess pollution.
Some of the main symptoms of dry eyes include dryness in the eyes, redness, itching, irritation, inflammation, sensitivity to light, watery eyes, stinging sensation, etc.
Doctors usually prescribe artificial tear drops or eye lubricants that can help keep your eyes moisturised, but these drops are said to work only temporarily and may not be of much help in the long run.
So, here are a few natural remedies to treat 'dry eye syndrome' that can work effectively!

1. Tea Bags
Placing wet tea bags on your eyes, every day for at least 10-15 minutes can treat dry eyes, as the antioxidants present in tea can stimulate tear ducts to produce more moisture.

2. Almond Oil
Rubbing a few drops of almond oil, gently on the eye lids, before going to bed can also help lubricate the tissues of the eyes naturally, thus treating ‘dry eyes syndrome' effectively.

3. Castor Oil
Castor oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, so rubbing a few drops of this oil over your eye lids and leaving it on overnight can also help reduce eye dryness and inflammation.

4. Lavender Essential Oil
Mix a few drops of lavender essential oil in a bowl of water, dip a cotton ball in this solution, apply it on your eyes and leave it on for 30 minutes. The antioxidants in this solution can help your eyes regain their moisture.

5. Tamarind Seeds
Soak ½ a bowl of tamarind seeds in water and leave it on for some time. Now, strain this solution and collect just the water in a bowl. Apply this potion on to your eyes and leave it on for 10 minutes. This solution can also treat dry eyes and reduce dark circles.

6. Potato
Slice 2 thin pieces of a potato, after soaking it in water. Place a slice on each eye. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Potato also contains enzymes that can cool your eyes and reduce dryness.

7. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is also rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, which can reduce eye dryness and inflammation, so applying fresh aloe vera pulp on your eyes can also help.
