Tea – A 'Drink' For Your Brains
In a 24x7 work culture, isn't tea the only friend you have? The answer is yes. Tea, a boon from China, has several health benefits and it has got even better with Dutch Researcher adding on tot he list of benefits. The research claims that along with all other good points, tea benefits also includes enhancing brain power and increasing alertness.
The Dutch researchers in the 'Nutritional Neuroscience' journal have reported that tea has the power of enhancing brain power and alertness due to the presence of natural nutrients. These tea benefits is the result of the presence of the amino acid called L-theanine. This nutrient results in the creation of dopamine and norepinephrine. These two substance result in the tea benefits of alertness and enhanced brain power. This has been proved through an experiment.
An experiment was done on 44 volunteers. Some of whom were served tea, while the others were not. It was noticed that the once who drank tea after 20 to 70 minutes had great alertness and also improved in performance. Tea is also believed to have cure tiredness in people below the age of 40.
Dr. Tim Bond, of the Tea Advisory Panel, also confirmed that benefits also included it's ability to improve the body's response to react to stimuli and focus attention. (Here are some other tea benefits).
Other Rich Sources Of Amino Acid -
1.Protein Rich Food – Egg, milk, chicken, grains, pulses and nuts
2.Vegetables – Vegetables like spinach, turnips, carrots, cabbage, beetroot and cucumber.
3.Fruits – melons, oranges, apples, papaya, grapes and plums.
Tea benefits of alertness is achieved due to the presence of amino acid and these other rich sources of amino acid if included in your diet can also be helpful to enhance brain power.
