Nose bleeds is a common problem faced by many both in extreme winters and summers. It is caused due to drying up of the nasal membranes. When the membranes dry out, they crack which leads to nose bleeds. Other causes of nose bleeds are -

1.Nasal injury
2.Infection
3.Clotting
4.Damage in the inside wall of the nose
5.Trauma
6.High Blood Pressure
7.Smoking and Alcohol

Nose is situated at a vulnerable position, as it protrudes on the face. Any trauma on the face may lead to nose bleeding. It can start at any time and it is necessary to stop it immediately. Here are some home remedies to stops nose bleeds -

1.Put few drops of lemon into the bleeding nose.
2.Slowly blow the nose to get rid of the clot if any.
3.Clotting of the mucus inside the nose creates infection which may be one of the major causes of bleeding nose. Thus, you need to keep your nose clean during cough and cold.
4.Apply ice pack on the exterior of the nose.
5.Wash your your face with water and sponge your face with wet cloth frequently. This prevents dryness and thus stops the bleeding.
6.Put salt in luke warm water and spray it in the nose.
7.Take a glass of milk. Put red sandalwood, honey and kesar in the milk and drink it.
8.Pink the bridge of your nose for 10 minutes. Continue till the time the bleeding stops. Generally it stops after two attempts.
9.Put two drops of amla juice into your nose. Amla is rich in vitamin C and thus heals the infection of damage quickly.

These home remedied will stop the nose bleeds and cure the cause as well. If the bleeding does not stop even after these remedies, then it is best to visit a doctors. To prevent bleeding nose one should include enough of green vegetables and fruits in his diet.
