Classy And Traditional; Sonam's Look At The National Awards
Sonam Kapoor attended the National Awards wearing Anamika Khanna and paired it up with heavy jewellery. Her sun-kissed makeup was quite simple.
Sonam Kapoor was felicitated at the 64th National Film Awards on Wednesday in New Delhi. The actress looked gorgeous wearing her all-time favourite Anamika Khanna while she received her first National Film Award for her performance in the film Neerja.
The Anamika Khanna olive-green saree she wore looked fabulous on her as she carried it with a lot of elegance.
We know how Sonam has always been breaking stereotypes with her outfits. She believes in keeping her lookbooks as quirky and different as possible. Sometimes her experiments have gone tremendously wrong.

Surprisingly, the pretty and gorgeous actress managed to dress elegantly as the prestigious occasion demanded. Hopefully, she knew the fact of having all eyes on her as she received such a prestigious felicitation.
We don't mind the reason, but she looked marvellous!
The olive-green silk saree looked glossy and radiant on the charming and pretty Sonam Kapoor. The saree had a laced border, perfectly embroidered on all the borderlines.
The pretty actress had teamed up the monotone-hued saree with a unicolour half-sleeve blouse that looked ravishing with the thin lace border and the traditional look. She decided to neatly pleat the 'anchal' of the saree which made her look even more gorgeous.

Well, with the jewellery we would say that it was a bit of over-do on her part. The heavy neckpiece with an extensively gorgeous pair of dangling earrings certainly became too much. The simple saree, devoid of any prints contrasted the heavy section of accessories.
The jewellery did not end there. She also decided to wear a pair of 'kangans' or heavy bangles on her right hand and a metallic wristwatch on her left. Looking at it from a fashion perspective, the lookbook is too heavy but the entire lookbook brings back the memories of a grandmother dressing up her grandchild for the first time in a saree.
Heavy or not, Sonam looks pretty and we love the look.

Adding onto the traditional look, she decided to wear a white 'gajra' or garland circled up her tightly done hair bun. This surely is a perfect fit for such an auspicious moment of receiving the National Film Award for the first time.
Her sun-kissed makeup illuminated the look with a tinge of blush and winged eyelids. She used a lighter shade of pink for her eyeshadow and mascara to highlight the lashes. The lipstick she used had a very light shade of matte brick red and we feel, she looked glorious in it.
We found her lookbook to be really gorgeous and appealing.
