Tommy Hilfiger Makes Waves At NYFW With Nautical Show On Staten Island Ferry, Explore Maritime Aesthetics!
He is the face of classic "Americano" fashion and loves to flaunt the style philosophy whenever he drops in a new collection!
At his most recent New York Fashion Week show on Sunday night, Tommy Hilfiger's passion for New York City and nautical elements stole the spotlight.
Known for fusing iconic aspects, the designer delivered a stunning presentation of his Spring 2025 collection on a disused Staten Island Ferry, fusing fashion with an extravagant event!
Tommy Hilfiger Equals American Fashion
The fashion show's distinctive stage was the ferry, which was decommissioned in 2021 and later acquired by comedian Pete Davidson and "Saturday Night Live" star Colin Jost. Staten Island native Jost expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I took this exact boat to high school every single morning...And now I love the vibe of it making it accessible for this interesting event.
Beyond fashion, the evening had other themes. Raekwon, Method Man, and Ghostface Killah of the renowned Wu-Tang Clan of Staten Island performed live for Hilfiger, electrifying the audience with their musical surprise. The rap-heavy conclusion was the ideal way to cap off an incredible evening as they made their way around the runways and aisles. The DJ for Hilfiger's February performance at Grand Central's Oyster Bar, Questlove, was the person in charge of selecting the complementing music and vibe!

Celebrating Nautical Aesthetics
The timeless appeal of nautical fashion is represented by its clean lines, stripes, and classic colour scheme, which draw inspiration from maritime aesthetics. Its ability to combine design and utility makes it a wardrobe must for both smart and casual occasions.
The collection followed faithfully to Hilfiger's renowned style. The designs honoured sailing heritage with their nautically inspired stripes while providing easy-going, adaptable pieces for contemporary wardrobes. The collection's main pieces included varsity jackets, trench coats, polos, oversized knits, and bandanas around the neck for a classic touch. It was nicknamed "The New American Prep wardrobe" by Hilfiger himself, who combined bright Ivy League style with practical seaside wear.
The sailing-themed show extended beyond clothes. Champagne, beer, hot dogs, pretzels, and personalized caramel corn boxes with Hilfiger's emblem and exclusive Statue of Liberty pins concealed within were served to the guests on the ship. The elegant yet fun atmosphere of the evening created the ideal setting for the nautically-themed set up.
Taking a break from her freshman year of college, Brooke Shields' daughter Grier made her maiden runway performance. She was one of the famous guests. "I became emotional," Shields remarked. "She wanted to do this, and it was her first show."
Madelyn Cline and Shay Mitchell were also seen admiring Tommy's latest collection. Mitchell said, As always, incredible. Every piece matches my style sensibilities. "The accessories were incredible, and what better way to close a show than with Tommy's signature style?"
Hilfiger's shows at New York Fashion Week are always must-sees, and he once again proved why sticking to classic fashion will always be in!
