New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024: 7 Best Looks From Runway Where Fashion Meets Function
New York Fashion Week 2024 kicked off in New York City and brought together designers, celebrities, influencers, and fashion enthusiasts.
The Big Apple city buzzed with stylish moments and witnessed the presence of celebrated fashion brands including Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Coach, Proenza Schouler, Helmut Lang, and the much-anticipated return of Derek Lam to the role of creative director at Callas Milano!

The best moments of the season featured a wide variety of styles and inspirations. Here are a few of our current favourite looks.

Tommy Hilfiger
Tommy Hilfiger took over the Grand Central Oyster Bar with his signature Americano classics and updated the featured ensembles with fresh embellishments and layering techniques. From layered outerwear to checkered casuals; the show was presented with the music by Questlove and the unexpected appearance of Jon Batiste, who energised the audience with a lively rendition of his song "Freedom".

Phillip Lim
An authentically New York brand, 3.1 Knowing that New Yorkers are too busy rushing from show to show, Phillip Lim decided to showcase his FW24 collection with an art piece near Chinatown, where visitors could come by whenever they wanted and have a few cocktails!
From abstract designs to Capri-length leggings and a jewel-tone teddy jacket; Lim's featured outfits made an ideal choice for grabbing a coffee!

Sandy Liang
Sandy Liang's current collection, which features her coquettish schoolgirl growing up, was created to mark ten years of her own business. Liang created classic designs with a nostalgic touch by drawing inspiration from Sailor Moon and nature.
Liang's collection adopted a more streamlined approach with classic sweaters and tailoring that put girlhood front and centre with pieces like star-shaped handbags and earrings, as well as puffy skirts and jackets!

PatBO
Patricia Bonaldi's exhibition catered only to women this season. The sophisticated sensuality was celebrated through the semi-sheer tiny dresses and seductive two-piece sets, which were inspired by the multifaceted essence of modern women.
The largely black collection was full of embellishments and cutouts, which bookended the emerald green and white ensembles (the latter of which is shown below). Although all of the ensembles would look great on a red carpet in 2024, Bonaldi took inspiration from classic glamour. Thirty dancers, including ballet, jazz, and modern disciplines, further enhanced the ambience.

Fforme
Fforme keeps extending its concept of femininity by experimenting with materials and engineering, combining strange materials in strange ways. Darted along the waist, the eye-catching emerald jersey and casual slacks were form-giving and cinching without being too tight.
An urban, sophisticated vibe was created by accessorizing with knit swim hats, leather flats, and custom sunglasses from the brand Port Tanger. The overall atmosphere was one of ease, grace, and aspiration!

Eckhaus Latta
Eckhaus Latta's show featured must-have items such as killer platform shoes made of mohair and brushed maroon leather, lacquered padded pants, shearling coats, and slick sunglasses, all comfortably paired with gauzy tanks, sheer button-downs, and killer knits. Put otherwise, the Eckhaus approach to dressing like a cool chick.

Proenza Schouler
Creative heads of Proenza Schouler brought their unique take on silent luxury with classic wardrobe pieces and a subdued colour scheme that only includes touches of gold, peach, and red. A line of well-tailored coats, leather accessories, and fluffy fur mixed with sensible footwear that will surely become the staple of any New Yorker's everyday wardrobe!
