Monsoon Fashion -7 Practical Ideas To Enjoy The Rainy Season In Style
Rains are poetic, captivating, and Beautiful until you enjoy them from a balcony or window. And the prospect of going to college, office or anywhere drenched is not so appealing to anyone. Since the intensity of rain and temperature can get a bit challenging, you should be opting for a style that syncs well with the dreary weather.
Wonder how to dress during the monsoons? Allow us to share some of the best style tips with you! Here are 7 practical ideas to enjoy the rainy season while keeping your style game top-notch:

Opt for Cotton Clothes
The cotton fabric is your best bet for monsoons. They are breathable and dry quickly when you experience rain outside. For formal wear, cotton shirts, tops, and kurtis with polyester trousers, pants, or skirts make a good combination. And for casual wear, opt for tees, tunics, and dresses in cotton, linen, viscose rayon, Tencel, or even recycled polyester fabrics.
Prefer Relaxed-Fit Outfits
The body-hugging, tight clothes when drenched in water tend to tighten even more. This could lead to discomfort and skin rashes or allergies. That's why it is best to opt for loose-fitting or relaxed-fit outfits that don't cling to your body even when you are soaking wet or walking in moderate rains.
Select loose shirts, oversized tees, flared skirts, oversized jackets, etc that will offer maximum comfort in the challenging weather. Also, sleeveless, off-shoulder or thin-strap tops will help prevent water from clogging the sleeves and look stylish as well!
Keep the Denim Away
Okay, we agree that denim is the go-to clothing option for most of us for everyday wear, but during monsoons, it is advisable to keep them away. The prime reason is, the fabric feels heavy when wet and doesn't dry easily either. So if you are someone who live-in the jeans can opt for leggings, ankle-length pants, or shorts instead.
Check the Length of the Outfit
There is nothing more irritable thing than damp, soaked, or muddy pants. That's why it is essential to consider the length of the bottoms you opt for. Ideally, avoid full-length pants or slacks during the rainy season. Instead wear palazzos, three-fourth leggings, and midi skirts that offer comfort and style both. For workwear, go for mini maxi dresses, blazer dresses, and flared skirts that are colour, length, and style appropriate for the working environment. And for casual fashion, there is nothing more chic and practical than shorts and tees or a shirt combo or a mini dress!

Carry a Scarf
A scarf makes for a lovely and practical accessory to carry in the rainy season. Carry one in your handbag to cover the damp patches on your top or protect your hair from getting wet when it rains suddenly. Plus, a cool, printed scarf featuring a lovely design like a geometrical pattern, botanical pattern, aztec pattern, and abstract pattern makes for the best clothing layer for plain outfits.
Experiment with colours
Monsoon season brings joy and happiness. You can include the same vibe in your style sense too! Select bright colours like yellow, orange, red, and pink, and pair them with neutrals. Avoid light colours like white, cream, or bright as they can appear translucent when wet and the mud marks will be evident on the same. Also, when it is pouring outside, simply wear black ensembles that don't make the wet patches or stains evident!
Comfy and Trendy Footwear
The walk in the rain feels romantic and magical. But for daily commutes, it is a hustle that can be managed only with comfy footwear. During the rainy season, heels, stilettos, and closed-style shoes should be avoided altogether. Also, leather or velvet fabric shoes is not such a practical idea either.
Wear bright-coloured sandals, flip-flops, rubber shoes, jelly shoes, or gumboots. Also, prefer waterproof socks for keeping your feet dry and protected from bacteria!
