The Met Gala 2023 was all about inspirational glamour featured by A-list celebs. Talented showbiz personalities including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Rihanna, Anne Hathway, Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and others put their finest fashion foot forward on the white carpet! The Met Gala 2023 white carpet featured sustainability at its core and was the painstaking effort of the finest Indian craftsmanship! Indian artisans developed the pristine white carpet that showcased red and blue stripes detailing over it!

The carpet was designed by Neytt.Extraweave is a Kerala-based sustainability brand founded by Sivan Santhosh and Nimisha Srinivas. The eye-catchy and inspirational area carpet measured around 6,960 sq metres and was crafted with sisal fibre. The founders shared that "For the mega event, we sourced the best quality sisal fibre, which is durable, specifically from Madagascar.
The Met Gala 2023 carpet is a true representation of the finest artistry and took over 60-70 days to create it from scratch. It was weaved using 120 cm of the raw material. The inspiration for the design came from the famous Japanese Architect Tadao Ando who was famous for his minimalistic and structured designs! The iconic and inspirational carpet was machine-made in India, woven in Alleppey, and hand-painted in the United States!

It was indeed a proud moment for the Neytt.Extraweave brand, who got the opportunity to present their expertise and craftsmanship at such a prestigious fashion gala. The founders further shared that, they were a little apprehensive about how the design would look when they received the first draft, but the way it was laid out, but it looked beautiful when it was laid out at the final venue!
