MET Gala 2016: 14 Jaw-dropping Dramatic Looks That Transported Us To The Future!
What an incredible theme to have, 'Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology', and might we add, most of the celebs even dressed the part. The Oscars of fashion is the MET Gala, and this year it was taken to a whole new level.
Almost every other celebrity was over the top, and this time alone, minimalism went right out the window and impressed us. It was a galore of futuristic bliss and we were transported to a different land. Who needs time travel when we have all these brilliant design houses with such great ideas already.
The celebrities did their part to carry it all off with all the attitude and zeal they had. Here, we have a list of the most daring and dramatic looks that were sported by the celebrities at the Met Gala event.

Zoe Saldana In A Dolce & Gabbana Dress
This peacock-inspired trail was a refreshing change from all the glitzy silver and it still managed to make a statement. This outfit is definitely going to be remembered while looking back at MET red-carpet history.

Emma Watson In A Calvin Klein
At one look, you may think it's a dress, but no. It is a combination of a top, a pair of pants with a stunning black trail as well. It looks quite interesting and the best part is how well Emma pulls it off.

Katy Perry In A Prada
All that futuristic gold and black with a touch of medieval goth nailed the brief. The golden key neck piece on the black-velvet gown looked over the top and apt for the occasion.

Madonna In A Givenchy
Though we are not very sure if this was a hit or miss or anything in between, Madonna's future meets bondage exposure did manage to grab some eye balls and does get included in our overly dramatic section.

Rita Ora In A Vera Wang
If it's possible to glow in silver grey, then Rita Ora proved it last night on the red carpet with this over-the-top dreamy trail of feathers.

Kate Hudson In An Atelier Versace
The intricate cutouts with sneak peaks of sheer with a gorgeous trail of smokey white skirt below was the perfect amount of dramatic visual that was needed for the MET Gala.

Bee Shaffer In An Alexander Mcqueen
This black dress fit her like a glove and still gave the whimsical effect of a flowy trail at the end and that's what made this outfit so dramatic.

Claire Danes
The giant ball gown that was futuristic in every sense of the way, why? Because it glows! Yes, Danes' light-up gown won our hearts and was officially the most dramatic outfit of them all.

Karolina Kurkova In A Marchesa
This whimsical white floral on sheer and grey give it this futuristic touch of a digital illusion and we give it up to Kurkova for nailing the perfect balance between feminine and futuristic.

Nicki Minaj In A Moschino
All buckled up and strapped into black sheer, Nicki Minaj pulled it off with some great attitude and we love the platinum blonde accent to her black hair.

Julie Macklowe
A metallic jumpsuit and braids! We loved how Macklowe decided to be futuristic enough to wear a jumpsuit at the red carpet and deviated from the crowd. And all the metal is oh-so dramatic.

Solange Knowles In A David LaPort
The dramatic fluorescent yellow with pleated ruffles and exaggerated everything was pulled off quite well by Solange and definitely was the most dramatic colour of the evening amongst a sea of silver.

Kim Kardashian In A Balmain
Dramatic, stunning, striking, ...we may fall short of words trying to describe exactly how impressed we are with Kim's silver Balmain attire.

Beyonce Knowles In A Givenchy
A latex gown in a nude shade with a pearly effect is a good combination of futuristic and chic. Only Queen Bey can fill out latex like that!
