Farah Khan Ali’s Star-Studded Flagship Boutique Launch Brought Yesteryear Stars Back Into The Spotlight
Farah Khan Ali, one of India's most celebrated jewellery designers known for her bold, contemporary collections and celebrity clientele, recently opened her flagship Starry Store in South Mumbai's Kala Ghoda district. The launch drew a dazzling mix of Bollywood's yesteryear icons and today's style-forward stars, making it as much a fashion moment as a jewellery unveiling.
For Farah, the evening was deeply personal, she dedicated the collection to her late mother, Zarine Khan adding a heartfelt layer to the glitz and glamour. While the jewellery sparkled, the guests' fashion choices stole as much attention, each outfit reflecting individual style while complementing the boutique's sophisticated and celebratory vibe.
The Deol And Fardeen Khan Duo: Monochrome Sophistication
Bobby Deol and Fardeen Khan brought a coordinated black monochrome vibe to the event. Bobby's relaxed yet polished all-black ensemble featured a slightly open shirt collar paired with tailored trousers, accessorized minimally with bracelets and a watch. Fardeen mirrored the sleek tone with a slightly more fitted black outfit, open-neck shirt, and tailored trousers, achieving effortless sharpness with clean, minimal styling.
Esha Deol: Ivory Elegance
Esha Deol stood out in her own right, wearing a soft ivory/cream outfit with a loose, flowy silhouette. The top balanced structure with relaxed wide sleeves, paired with matching bottoms. She accessorized delicately and added a metallic clutch, bringing subtle contrast and a touch of understated glamour.
Twinkle Khanna: Structured Power With A Twist
Twinkle Khanna stunned in a blazer-dress hybrid in black, featuring a deep V-neckline and sharp lapels. The standout feature? Gold chain details draped across the waist, which added a modern, statement-making edge to the otherwise minimalist silhouette. With full-length sleeves and clean tailoring, her look radiated confidence and boss-lady energy.
Manisha Koirala: Pastel Elegance Meets Contemporary Flair
Manisha Koirala wore a pastel pink saree paired with a draped, shirt-style top in ivory. The flowy top blended effortlessly with the saree, combining comfort with contemporary elegance. Short curls, statement earrings, and tinted glasses completed the understated yet distinctive ensemble.
Sushmita Sen: Contemporary Monochrome Chic
Sushmita opted for a structured cream-off-white ensemble that merged sophistication with modernity. A cropped biker-style jacket with gold zippers sat atop high-waisted, wide-leg trousers, giving fluidity to the look. Oversized black-rimmed glasses and a subtle black choker highlighted the tailoring, keeping the focus on sharp, architectural lines rather than embellishments.
Dia Mirza: Classic Minimalism
Dia Mirza kept things understated yet striking with a floor-length, sleeveless black gown. The square neckline and soft pleats at the waist added subtle femininity without overcomplicating the silhouette. Loose waves and statement drop earrings finished a look that was timeless and effortlessly elegant.
Madhoo: Modern Glam Meets Casual Cool
Madhoo turned heads in a strapless, sweetheart-neckline peplum top in shimmering black, heavily embellished with sequins and beadwork that beautifully caught the light. The V-cut at the center and subtle flare at the waist created a classic peplum silhouette, adding elegant drama to her look. She paired the top with light-wash blue denim jeans, giving the outfit a chic high-low balance perfect for a relaxed yet stylish party vibe.
Accessories were minimal but impactful-a stack of metallic bangles and a watch on her left wrist, along with small, understated earrings. Her sleek, straight blowout with a middle part and polished makeup, featuring warm lips and defined eyes, completed the ensemble, delivering an effortlessly modern and evening-ready look.
Rekha: Tradition with a Diva Twist
In her signature style, Rekha turned heads in a luxurious ivory and gold saree, likely silk or chanderi, with intricate gold zari borders. She accessorized heavily with traditional jewelry: statement jhumkas, stacked bangles, and a matching gold potli. Her trademark dark sunglasses added a contemporary edge, making her ensemble a perfect mix of heritage and modern diva appeal.
Where Past Meets Present
Farah Khan Ali's Starry Store launch proved that fashion is as much about personality as it is about fabric and colour. The evening celebrated both veteran glamour and contemporary style, with each guest bringing their unique signature to the red carpet. From monochrome sophistication to timeless sarees, the launch offered a perfect showcase of Indian fashion that honors legacy while embracing modernity.
