Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Bold New Look! You Better See This
The doe eyed damsel made her acting debut with the 1997 Tamil film Iruvar and had her first Hindi film release in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya the same year. Some of her best movies are Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Jodha Akbar, Choker Bali, Enthiran, Guzaarish, Raavan, Dhoom 2 and Devdas. In the Miss India Pageant (1994) Rai was crowned Miss India World, also winning five other sub-titles, including "Miss Catwalk", "Miss Miraculous", "Miss Photogenic", "Miss Perfect Ten" and "Miss Popular". She has also modelled for L'Oreal, Longiness watches, Coca-Cola, Lakme Cosmetics, Philips and Nakshatra Diamond Jewellery to mention a few. Aishwarya Rai is definitely one of Bollywood's greatest actresses and fashion icons.
Her acting career took a sharp turn when she married Abhishek Bachchan, the son of Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan. Things got crazier when Aishwarya Rai got pregnant as she was hardly spotted by the media except at the Cannes Film Festival (she is one of the few Indian actresses to be at Cannes each year). With her acting and appearances almost at nil we thought we'd lost another gem in Bollywood but she's back, would you believe it? Aishwarya Rai is now promoting her newest film Jazbaa.
She turned up at a Vividh festival at a college in Mumbai to promote Jazbaa and she looked totally different. This isn't the Aishwarya Rai we've seen at Cannes or anywhere else. She was sporting a deep blue polka dot top from Burberry and denims from J Brand. She must have thought this look through and through because she looked rather sharp. The look was topped off with Dior boots and a chunky silver necklace from Amrapali. Her make-up was classy. Cat eyeliner and a bright red lip were all she needed to woo the audience.
While we're impressed with the amazing weight loss journey and her bold look, we think Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is capable of doing better. This high fashion queen is probably a bit rusty since she's just re-entering Bollywood after a long break and we hope to see more of her in the days to come.
