Aloo Curry Without Onions: Holi Spl

Holika Dahan is the burning of a bonfire. There are many Holi recipes that are prepared to celebrate the Indian festival of colours. From Bhang, thandai to gujia and rasmalai, there are sweets, side dishes, snacks and beverages that are prepared to celebrate Holi.
Many people do not prepare onions and garlic recipes on Hindu festivals like Holi. So, check out the aloo curry without onions and garlic. Serve this aloo curry as a side dish with fried kachoris and pickle of your choice.

Ingredients
- Aloo- 4-5 (boiled, peeled and cut into 4 halves)
- Tomato- 2 (chopped/grounded into a paste)
- Green chillies- 3-4 (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Coriander powder- 2tsp
- Cumin and mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Water- 1 cup
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
Procedure
- In a bowl, mix red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and add little water to make a thick paste.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Season with cumin and mustard seeds.
- Now add the spices paste and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Add the tomato and green chillies. Cook till it becomes tender. Once done, add water and bring it to boil.
- Gently add the potato pieces and stir well. Boil till the gravy thickens.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Aloo curry without onions is ready. Serve it hot with ajwain paranthas or plain rotis!
