Spicy Masala Dosa Recipe – Homemade Recipe
Ingredients:
For Dosa :
1. 2 1/2 cup Rice
2. 1 cup Urad dal (whole)
3. 1/4 cup pressed rice
4. 2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
5. Salt to taste
6. 1/2 tsp sugar (for color)
7. Oil for shallow frying
For Masala:
1. 2 potatoes (peeled, boiled and mashed)
2. 1 onion (finely chopped)
3. 2-3 chillies (chopped)
4. 1/2 tsp tumeric Powder
5. 1/2 tsp chilli powder
6. 1/4 garam masala powder
7. 1/2 tsp chana dal
8. 1/2 tsp urad dal
9. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
10. Salt to taste
Garnish :
1. 1 tsp Ghee
Preparation:
1. Wash and soak urad dal, rice, pressed rice and fenugreek seeds separately in water overnight or atleast 6 hours.
2. Now grind them to smooth batter.
3. Add salt, pinch of sugar and set the mixture aside to ferment at least a day.
4. Saute mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, green chillies and onions in oil.
5. Add mashed potatoes, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix well. Set aside to cool.
6. Spread a cup of batter evenly on a non stick pan in a circular shape.
7. Add little oil at the ends and flip the side when golden brown.
8. Fill in the dosa with some masala and fold it. Tasty and spicy dosa ready to serve.
9. Before you serve, garnish the hot dosa with a teaspoon of ghee.
Enjoy the hot and crispy dosa with pudina chutney or ginger chutney instead of coconut chutney and sambar for a change.
