Grape Tarts
Ingredients:
150gms Black Grapes
For the Custard :
1 Egg
50gms Sugar
15gms Flour
2 Cardamoms
180ml Milk
For the Short Crust Pastry :
150gms Flour
90gms Butter
Cold water to mix
10gms Sugar Powder
Method:
To make Short Crust Pastry :
Rub chilled Butter into the Flour until it resembles fine breadcrumb texture. Add Sugar and cold Water mix to a dough. Chill for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Roll out the pastry and line the insides of the shallow 15cms tart tin. Flute the edges. Prick with a fork and bake in the oven at 375 Deg F for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove and cool.
Cut Grapes into half and remove the seeds. Arrange neatly in the pastry shell.
To make the Custard :
Boil Milk with Cardamom pods. Cream together Egg, Sugar and Flour. Strain the hot Milk. Stir till Sugar dissolves. Pour slowly over Grapes into the Pastry shell.
Bake at 300 Deg F till Custard is firm and set.
