Andhra Style Chicken 65 Recipe
Chicken 65 is a famous snack recipe. It is an interesting chicken recipe with a unique name. The name also has a story behind it. Chicken 65 recipe was first introduced by a well known restaurant in Chennai in the year 1965. Co-incidentally, this recipe appeared as the 65th item on the restaurant's menu. Since then people have always referred to this dish as chicken 65.
Chicken 65 is a spicy appetizer. In this recipe, the chicken is first marinated with different spices and then deep fried. This chicken 65 recipe is another version of the original recipe which is cooked in Andhra style. Chicken 65 recipe is extremely easy and you can prepare it for evening snacks at home, especially if you have some guests coming in.

Preparation time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Boneless chicken- 500gms (cut into medium sized pieces)
- Lemon juice- 1tbsp
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- 2tsp
- Pepper powder- 1tsp
- Cumin powder- ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder- a pinch
- Cornflour- 1tbsp
- Rice flour- 1tsp
- Egg- 1
- Curry leaves- 8
- Green chillies- 3
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- for deep frying
Procedure
- Clean and wash the chicken pieces properly. Marinate the chicken pieces with lemon juice and salt. Keep it aside for about 10 minutes.
- Mix cornflour, rice flour, egg, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt together in a bowl.
- Marinate the chicken pieces with this mixture and keep aside for about an hour.
- After one hour, heat oil in a deep frying pan.
- Fry the curry leaves and green chillies for about a minute, remove from oil and keep it aside.
- Now fry the marinated chicken pieces in the same pan for about 15 minutes on a low flame.
- Once they turn golden brown and get completely cooked, switch off the flame.
- Transfer the chicken in a serving platter and garnish with fried curry leaves and green chillies.
