Aloo Puri: A Yummy Indian Snacks Recipe
Have you ever had the taste of yummy aloo puris? Aloo means potato. It is used as a stuffing in this Indian snacks recipe. A puri recipe is great to taste and savour. Puri recipes are in fact popular all over the world. Aloo puri might be considered as one of the most relished of all Indian snacks recipe. What makes an aloo puri all the more special is its easy preparation. All that you need to accomplish this puri recipe is a few potatoes, maida (all purpose flour) and vegetable oil. Aloo puris are sure to be liked by all. Try making aloo puri at home with the help of this recipe.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes
Ingredients
- Potatoes- 3-4 (boiled and peeled)
- Cumin Seeds- 2tsp
- Maida ( All Purpose Flour)- 5-6 cups
- Green Chillies- 2-3 (finely chopped)
- Coriander Leaves- ¾ cup (finely chopped)
- Red Chilli Powder- 1tsp
- Black Pepper- ½ tsp
- Vegetable Oil- 2-3 cups
- Ghee- 1-2tbsp
- Salt- To Taste
Procedure
- Take the already boiled and peeled potatoes in a medium sized container and mash them well. Keep it aside.
- Now take a frying pan over the gas oven and roast the cumin seeds in them over a low flame for a minute. Keep them separately in a small bowl
- Now take the maida (all purpose flour) in a large container and add some water to it. Add the mashed potatoes, roasted cumin seeds, green chillies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, black pepper and some salt to it. Mix well and form a dough.
- Form small balls out of this dough and keep then on a plate.
- Make small flat and round shapes from the balls and keep aside.
- Take a deep bottomed frying pan over the gas oven and add the vegetable oil and ghee to it. Stir well on a low flame and you will find a fine smell coming out of it.
- Deep fry all the puris in the oil until they become fluffy and turn golden in colour.
- Turn off the gas oven after it is over. Your puris are now ready to be served.
It is a completely vegetarian recipe and it is better that you serve aloo puri with some gravy preparation.
