Alia Bhatt Goes Sheer In Black Dress

Alia Bhatt has been busy promoting her movie 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' with her cute co-star Varun Dhawan. We have seen her try out a plethora of looks so far. Alia always prefers short dresses compared to maxis or elaborate gowns. That is is why, we were not surprised to see Alia Bhatt in a black dress that came up to her knees for the promotions of the movie in Delhi.

But the 'oomph' factor of the dress was provided by the lace details. Alia Bhatt was in a sheer dress made of black lace and with silver trimmings. She managed to look alright in this outfit but we are not grasping for breath. We would rather see Alia a little dressed up like she was for the Karan Johar talk show this week.

Alia's dress was nice but she did not carry her messy look very well. She could have gone with a different hairstyle to highlight the scooped out back of her dress. Also, this look did not go well without makeup. On another day, Alia Bhatt could have looked stunning in this black lace dress. But she looked average due to some small fashion mistakes.

Alia's Dress

Alia's dress was partly sheer above the knees. Partial lining is something that rarely works well. One should either go all out sheer or not wear see-through clothing at all.

Scooped Back

We would be able to appreciate the scooped out back covered in lace design much better if Alia had tied her hair up or gone for a neater look.

Zazzy Rockstar Bands

Alia wore lots of small beads, colourful bracelets and rockstar bands with this dress. That was not the best way to accessorise this dress. Lace always has an underlying feminine effect to it.

Side Swept Hair

Normally, we like Alia's wild look as she lets her tresses untamed. But this messy side swept hair did not work for this outfit. She should have opted for a neater hairstyle.

Heavy Boots

Alia Bhatt's flat shoes are being much talked about. But these black boots are too heavy for the lace outfit. We wish she would have worn different footwear with this dress.

No Makeup

A bit of priming up was essential to get the dullness out of Alia's face. But she chose to ditch makeup in favour of a natural look.

Alia managed to look sassy because of her spirited attitude. But her ensemble did not have us going 'wow' at once.
