Day 2 IIJW 2013: Modern Jewellery From GIA
Day 2 of IIJW 2013 was less star-studded compared to the first day. However it was by no means lacking in any variety of jewellery designs. India International Jewellery Week 2013 has several jewellery brands showcasing their designs. Day 2 of IIJW 2013 has a collection from GIA. GIA is a known jewellery brand that is famous for making art jewellery.
Most of the designs that we saw at India International Jewellery Week 2013 have been ethnic or rather bridal. Be it gold or diamond jewellery, there was a distinctly ornate touch to the jewellery designs we have seen so far. But on Day 2 of IIJW 2013, the difference finally started showing. The GIA collection consisted of mostly modern jewellery.
The designs in the GIA collection at IIJW 2013 were contemporary. There was nothing specifically bridal about the art jewellery. There were many interesting pieces of artistic beaded jewellery that is certainly for everyday wear. All the models were dressed in black lace outfits adding a touch of enigma to the GIA ramp show on Day 2 of IIJW 2013.
Here are some notable jewellery designs that you can pick up for regular wear from the GIA IIJW 2013 collection.

Silver V-Shaped Necklace
This silver necklace has black embellishments on it. The shape of a necklace is like a V-shape collar. The pendant is a light brown gemstone that has also been used in the earrings.

Green n Yellow Beaded Necklace
This double layered necklace looks grand but actually, it contains very little gold. The bulk of the necklace is constituted by tiny green and yellow beads held together by metal knobs. A perfect pick that goes with earthy cotton garments.

Emerald n Shell Necklace
This neckpiece has two different layers. The first is an emerald choker that matched the earrings. The second layer of the neckpiece is an array of enamel coloured shells.

Black Beads n White Gold
This necklace has peanut sized black beads attached to a white gold pendant. The pendant has stylish geometrical shape.

Sleek Diamond Necklace
This diamond necklace is exceedingly sleek. The only thing arresting about this piece of jewellery is the heavy pendant.

Red Fabric Necklace
Brilliant red necklace around the model's neck is made of a silky fabric. The pendant is large and made of white gold or possibly silver. This neckpiece is perfect for Indo-Western outfits.

Wired Tiara
A tiara usually has a graceful shape. But this contemporary tiara design is wiry and thus different.

Star Necklace n Ring Bracelet
This necklace is really novel because it has a really cute star pendant. The ring bracelet is artistic and has a graceful look.

Diamond n Beaded Neckpiece
This seems to be the season for layered necklaces. The first part of this neckpiece is a proper diamond and ruby necklace. The second layer is composed of shimmering reddish brown beads with a shade shaped diamond pendant.

Ruby Tiara
The necklace here is really not impressive. But the tiara worn sideways is just exquisite. The tiara basically consisted droplets of rubies in varying sizes.

Floral Diamond Kamarbandh
It is hard to find anyone wearing waistbands or kamarbandhs these days. But if you have a sleek floral kamarbandh like this one, you need not save it for ethnic occasions.

Straw Choker
We are not very sure what this choker is actually made from. But it looks like a strip of woven straw.

Red Metal Plates Choker
This exclusive choker is an assortment of red coloured longitudinal metal plates. You can say that it resembles a dog collar but it is genuinely striking as a piece of jewellery.

Matte Gold n Grey Pearls Collar Necklace
This elaborate collar necklace covers the entire bosom. It is made with intricately crafted matte gold. The lining of the necklace is made of grey pearls.

Sapphire n Diamonds Tiara
Just like the titled ruby tiara before, this tiara made of sapphire and diamonds is very contemporary.

Black n Gold Beads
This necklace has two parallel strings of shimmering black beads. Large golden beads are set within these two layers of black beads. The effect is quite striking.

Triangular Tiara
There is not much ado about this tiara. It is a triangular piece of silver that has sky blue gemstones studded in it. It is perfect for a modern ethnic look.

Sky Blue Hooped Pendant
This silver chain has been double over to show off the large pendant. The thick hooped pendant is embellished with sky blue stone details.

Snake Necklace
This kind of necklaces are typically called the snake necklaces. One side of the necklace is a wiry web. The other side is plain with black stone at the tip. The mouth of the necklace is open.
