Indian skin and sun tanning? This may sound ludicrous to you but hear us out, okay? The allure of a sun-kissed glow is undeniable - honest to god! It adds a touch of warmth and oomphness to your skin, making you look and feel like you've just returned from a relaxing vacation.
But Indians getting tanned for a dusky glow? Have you ever heard that? Well, we have.

Not all Indians have the same skin and our country has such a rich diversity - we have it all, from wheatish to tan to black gold!
So, if you are one of them Indians who would love to get a tan, this article is your holy grail. Read on to know more...
Tips For A Healthy Tan For Indian Skin
1. Choose the right time: Timing is everything when it comes to tanning. The sun's rays are strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Try to tan in the early morning or late afternoon to reduce the risk of sunburn.
2. Use sunscreen: This doesn't even have to be stressed but yeah, protect your skin with sunscreen, even when tanning. Opt for a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to shield your skin from harmful UV rays.
3. Gradual exposure: Don't rush it! Start with short exposure periods and gradually increase your time in the sun. This helps your skin adapt and minimizes the risk of burning.

4. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Dehydrated skin is more prone to sun damage.
5. Sun-friendly diet: Include foods rich in antioxidants like tomatoes, carrots, and green tea in your diet. They can help protect your skin from the inside.
6. Moisturise: After tanning, apply a soothing moisturiser to lock in moisture and prevent peeling.
7. Avoid tanning beds: Tanning beds emit harmful UV radiation. It's best to avoid them altogether to protect your skin from premature ageing and skin cancer.
8. Wear protective clothing: Cover up with lightweight, long-sleeved clothing and a wide-brimmed hat to shield your skin from direct sunlight.
9. Exfoliate regularly: Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, ensuring an even and long-lasting tan.

What if you get sunburnt?
If you do get sunburned, aloe vera gel is your best friend. It cools and soothes the skin, promoting faster healing.
To get that tan-brown dusky skin that is desired by many, you need to be patient and consistent with your sun exposure - and your tan will develop naturally.
