Kriti Sanon Skincare: The Actress Swears By Double Cleanse; Here’s Why You Should Too
With her Youtube channel, Kriti Sanon has become a literal skincare guru with routines that have changed the game for many with her undeniable charm, grace, and beauty.
On her YouTube channel, Kriti recently posted her AM-PM skincare routine, which received a great deal of attention from beauty enthusiasts.
The famed double cleanse method is one of the steps emphasised by Kriti Sanon on her Instagram account.

As a first step, Sanon uses a deep cleansing product such as micellar water, cleansing balm or cleansing oil which is a fan favourite. In addition, a good face wash that does not strip your skin of its essential oils and increases its sensitivity is a no-brainer second step.
Let's check out how you can double cleanse.
What Is Double Cleansing?
When you double cleanse, you are not just repeating the act of washing your face, you are also changing up what you are using to accomplish a deeper level of cleansing [1].
The term double cleansing refers to washing the face with two different types of cleansers at the same time.
It is true that double cleansing is a two-step process that only adds a few minutes to your usual skincare routine, but it is not a one-size-fits-all procedure.
How To Double Cleanse?
The main steps in double-cleansing are the same regardless of your skin type [2]:
- Dry skin should be cleansed with a cleansing oil, balm or micellar water.
- The first cleanser should be massaged into your skin with your fingers, a cotton pad, or a soft cloth, to assist in removing makeup, sebum, and sunscreen residue.
- Wet your face with water.
- Using your fingertips, a soft cloth or a cleansing device, massage the second cleanser into the skin.
- Dry your face after rinsing off the cleanser.

How To Double Cleanse If You Have Oily Skin
Oil-based cleansers have been shown to effectively remove impurities and sebum from your skin when you are already battling slickness and shine. However, in the event that you do not enjoy using oils, try soaking a cotton pad in micellar water.
This water contains tiny molecules that are capable of effectively drawing out dirt and excess oil from your pores.
How To Double Cleanse If You Have Dry Skin
With dry skin, you are more likely to over-wash your face, so doubling up on your cleansing routine may do more harm than good if you are using products that are not formulated for your skin type.
In order to boost hydration and help restore your skin's lipid barrier, experts recommend using emollients and cleansing balms infused with shea butter and sunflower, coconut, or jojoba oils.

How To Double Cleanse If You Have Normal or Combination Skin
Combination skin can be challenging to treat - part of your face may feel like an oil well while the rest may be as dry as a desert - so it is important that you use products that can restore balance and improve texture and complexion.
Experts recommend using nutrient-rich, oil-based cleansers with ceramides to plump and moisturise your skin.
