5 Ways To Use Tea Leaves For A Prettier Skin
Looking for ways to get that pretty, natural glow? Look no further, we have all the answers for you!
Tea is one of the most favourite beverages among Indians. Your day doesn't start on the right note if you haven't drunk one cup of steaming tea. Tea is rich in antioxidants and can treat physiological issues such as a headache to psychological issues such as depression.
When it comes to using tea leaves topically, many experiments aren't done. It is mainly because, we, Indians, drink milk tea and add milk to our tea while it is boiling.
If you want to use used tea leaves for home remedies for a healthier skin, make sure that it is either the used green tea or black tea leaves.
Tea originally isn't native to India; it was brought in by the Chinese invaders. Topical use of tea leaves has a lot of benefits such as it reduces puffiness around the eyes, evens out the skin tone and tightens the skin by stimulating blood.
Here are some ways by which you could use tea leaves to get a pretty and healthy skin. Take a look.
1 Green Tea Face Pack
For this, you'll need two bags of used green tea. Cut open the bags and pour the green tea in a bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of honey, ½ a teaspoon of curd and a squeeze of lemon juice to it. Mix it well and apply it on your face for 10 minutes. This mask helps in evening out the light and dark patches on your face and gives an even tone.
2 Green Tea Toner
Brew green tea as usual and keep it aside to cool down. Once it is at room temperature, splash it on your face until the cup is empty. Doing this will tighten your face muscles and make you look brighter because of all the blood circulation that is happening.
3 For Reducing Puffiness Around The Eyes
You'll need either two used black or green tea bags. Take a little lukewarm water and dip these two tea bags in it for around 30 seconds. Squeeze the excess water out and keep it on your eyes for around 15 minutes. Because of its high antioxidants, tea leaves reduce wrinkles around the eyes and also the puffiness.
4 Anti-acne Cleanser
You will need one cup of brewed black tea and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Once the tea is cold, mix the essential oil with the black tea and store it in a bottle. Use a cotton ball and dab this mixture on your acne every day and leave it for 10 minutes before washing it off. Use a little moisturiser afterward. This cleanser pulls out the excess oil from the pores and balances the skin's pH. It also helps in killing the bacteria that cause acne.
5 Green Tea Steam Facial
You will require around 3-4 cups of green tea for this. Pour boiling hot green tea in a large bowl. Place your head at a reasonable distance from the mouth of the bowl and cover your head with a towel. At once only be in direct contact with the steam for 5 minutes. You can do it twice or thrice at one time. This will clean your pores well and maintain the pH of the skin. The green tea steam helps in shrinkage of the pores on your skin, thereby making your skin look firmer.
