Beauty Tips For Each Skin Type
Read this article to find out about beauty tips for each type of skin.
Your skin reflects the state of your health. A good skin is a sign of good health and general well-being. Having said that, the importance of proper skin care cannot be emphasized enough.
Each skin type requires a different skin care routine. Although the core rule of cleansing, toning and moisturizing stands for all skin types, the products that need to be used vary with skin type. The same goes for make-up as well.

Every person is unique and so is their skin, but in a gist, skin types can be categorized as follows on the basis of texture.
1. Dry Skin
This type of skin is characterized by rough texture and small pores. The dryness is caused mainly due to inadequate secretion of sebum, which is the skin's very own moisturizer.
Due to the insufficient hydration from within, this skin type requires frequent moisturization. If you need to use thick moisturizers again and again throughout the day, you have a dry skin.

Gel-based moisturizers are a big no-no for people with the skin type. Toning also should be avoided because the alcohol present in the toners strips the skin of moisture.
If you do need to use a toner, use one that is alcohol-free or better still, use rose water. The hydrating properties of rose water locks in the moisture.
Use foundations that are oil based and have hydrating properties. Avoid labels that say 'oil free' and 'matte'. To achieve the matte look combine a dewy foundation with a good compact.
Look for ingredients such as peptides, ginseng extract and AHAs.
2. Oily Skin

As the name suggests, oily skin is the opposite of dry skin. It is one that has excess secretion of sebum. This excess sebum attracts dirt and also makes makeup look dull.
People with oily skin should follow all three steps of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. If you have oily skin you should use gel-based moisturizers.
Also, due to excess oil, people with oily skin tend to wash their faces more often in a day.
Therefore, they should use a mild cleanser which does not harm the skin with frequent use. Look for ingredients such as salicylic acid, sodium PCA, AHAs and hyaluronic acid.

Avoid products that contain sodium or ammonium lauryl sulfate.
Go for oil controlling formulas in foundations. Always use compact to prolong oxidization of the foundation.
Even if you have oily skin never skip on prepping the skin with a good gel-based moisturizer before putting on makeup.
Exfoliate once a week to unclog the pores and remove the dead cells stuck to the skin due to the excess oil.

3. Combination Skin
This type of skin is usually oily in the T-Zone and normal to dry in other areas of the face. This skin type requires similar care to oily skin, just with some different ingredients. Use gel-based moisturizers.
Use light oil-free foundations. Avoid the use of mineral powder and other loose powders because this type of skin has a tendency to get clogged. Use a compact instead.
The compact is pressed powder; therefore, has finer particles which are easy to remove.

This skin type can be sensitive to harsh cleansers and toners. Use aloe-based products. Massage aloe vera gel onto the face at night. Rinse the next day.
Look for ingredients such as salicylic acid, retinol, hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid. Avoid products containing sodium or ammonium lauryl sulfate or mineral oils.
These were a few pointers for skin care regarding each skin type. A little extra effort goes a long a way in bringing out the youthful glow that we all seek.
