By: Rima Chowdhury

If you thought using more of lipstick can help you look attractive, then you are absolutely wrong. Yes, an attractive red colour on your lips surely might make your lips look luscious and supple but certainly, it affects your lips in several ways.

We have listed certain beauty products here that can harm your skin and why you should not use them regularly. Beauty industry is unregulated and hyped and a lot of products hit the market with each one of us going crazy over their quality, irrespective of their effect on our skin and body.

These beauty products can totally harm your skin to a great extent and it is only wise to use them occasionally. So, here is the list of a few beauty products that you should never overuse.

1. Sunscreen With Vitamin A

According to the latest studies, you should avoid using sunscreen with Vitamin A extract in it because when Vitamin A is exposed to the sun, it may lead to the development of cancer cells on the skin. Retinol (an animal form of vitamin A) is specifically used in night creams because it should never be applied during the day. And hence, you should avoid using sunscreen with Vitamin A in it.

2. Cleansing Brushes

We are so in love with cleansing brushes because they help to get rid of the dirt and dust on the body. Each one of us uses cleansing brush because it helps to deep clean the body, but too much use of the same may lead to irritation on the skin. The bristles of the brushes are hard and hence, it may lead to skin dryness and inflammation. It's always good to avoid using brushes; and even if you are using them, try to change them quite often.

3. Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is one of the best alternatives to keep your scalp dry and healthy. If you don't want to shampoo your hair, you can use a dry shampoo to fix your oily hair. However, you should not be using dry shampoos quite often, as using them too much might cause buildup on the scalp, which can clog the pores on the scalp. Buildup on the scalp discourages blood circulation, thus leading to hair thinning and hair fall. In order to get rid of the buildup, make sure you shampoo your hair the next day, so that the chemicals are washed away easily.

4. Silicone Primers

Silicone primers are one of the best products in the market that help to blur the imperfections on the skin. But overuse of silicone-based primers can prove to be extremely harmful for your skin. Silicone can affect your skin and clog the pores, thus leading to appearance of acne and pimples on the skin.

5.Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid lipsticks might be one of the biggest revolutions in the beauty industry today, but using them too often can have a huge ill effect on the lips. Applying too much of the liquid lipsticks can keep our lips unhealthy and dry all the time. The lipstick may leave your lips to look cracked or chapped all the time. If you are using liquid lipsticks, make sure you don't wear them for too long; and if you do, make sure you massage your lips with coconut oil later.
