Oily skin is one of the common skin problems that most of them face. Oily skin can make one look dull and unattractive. Like all other skin types, oily skin also requires a special care and attention because oily skin is more prone to pimples and acne.
Oily skin can also cause the appearance of blackheads, whiteheads and blemishes. Some of the reasons of an oily skin type could be genetics, improper skin care, stress, imbalance of hormones and usage of certain cosmetic products.
Keeping the skin clean by washing it several times in a day with plain water is one of the best ways to reduce oiliness on the face.
However, there are also a few effective ingredients that can help treat oily and acne-prone skin. Regular use of these ingredients can for sure keep skin problems, specially oiliness, at bay.

Milk: The healing properties of milk work well for an oily skin type. Soak a cotton ball in milk and wipe your face with it twice in a day. Lemon can also be added to milk to get that extra-cleansing effect.
Orange: Orange is loaded with vitamin C content that treats the oiliness present on the skin. Squeeze a half-cut orange and apply it on to the skin. Leave it for sometime and later rinse. This method helps to reduce the oiliness in the skin.

Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is one of the best remedies that treats an oily skin. Extract the juice of aloe vera and apply it all over the face. Rinse it after sometime. Use this mask twice a day for best results.
Honey: Honey has skin-nourishing properties. Mix equal amount of honey and lemon juice. Apply this mask on to the skin. Leave it for sometime and then rinse. This mask helps to reduce the oiliness. It has skin-lightening property too.

Neem: Neem has antibacterial property and it treats various skin problems. It can treat oily and acne-prone skin as well. Apply the paste of neem on the skin and rinse after sometime to get rid of acne-prone skin and to reduce oiliness of the skin.
