How To Improve Skin Elasticity?
Elasticity
of
skin
is
the
ability
of
your
skin
to
stretch
and
then
return
to
its
normal
state
afterward.
In
younger
people
the
elasticity
of
skin
is
better
which
is
related
to
the
thickness
of
the
dermis.
In
older
people
elasticity
is
poorer
because
there
is
less
dermis
to
cause
the
skin
to
snap
back
to
its
original
position.
Loss
of
elasticity
in
the
skin
is
a
natural
sign
of
aging
and
is
known
as
elastosis.
There are several reasons why our skin loses elasticity as we grow old. Some of the reasons why skin loses elasticity and sags are as listed below:-
1.Genes - This is probably the biggest factor in determining why and when your skin will lose elasticity, sag, and form wrinkles.
2.U.V Radiation - These radiations are a reason for a bulk of skin problems like tanning, sun burn, wrinkles and loosening of skin.
3.Stress - A lot of stress can cause hormonal imbalances in the body can lead to skin and other body problems. Hormonal imbalances can cause the reduction of proteins that are responsible for the elasticity of skin.
4.Diet - Too much of sugar has also been a reason for sagging skin. Improper and unhealthy diet causes a lot of skin ailments including loosening it's elasticity.
Now that the major reasons for sagging skin are clear, we will further see the precautions and methods that can help us improve the skin's elasticity. Some of them are as listed below:-
1.Use skin supplements like Vitamin C and Vitamin E to improve the elasticity of skin. Creams are also effective and efficient. Consult a skin doctor before having any of these supplements.
2.Avoid the sun and use a good sunscreen. Sun damage is well-known to wreak havoc on the best of skin.
3.Drink
plenty
of
water.
Water
is
what
nourishes
our
cells;
it
is
present
in
every
cell
in
our
bodies.
But,
many
people
do
not
drink
enough
of
water.
And
without
proper
hydration,
skin
will
appear
dull
and
listless.
So
drink
lots
of
water
to
improve
skin's
elasticity.
4.Do not bathe in hot water since this has a harmful effect on the skin integrity, damaging it and drying it out.
5.Use a good moisturiser. Consult an aesthetician or dermatologist for the best one for your skin type.
6.Partaking
in
regular
exercise
can
improve
skin
elasticity.
It
is
recommended
to
have
30
minutes
of
aerobic
exercise
to
improve
circulation
in
the
skin.
This
improves
blood
circulation
and
removing
any
waste
products
more
effectively.
Hence,
you
will
have
a
more
youthful
skin.
7.Proteins make up the matrix of our cells, thus they are very important for good collagen and elasticity. Eat these top proteins for good elasticity: almonds, peanut butter, salmon, sardines and eggs.
8.Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables like oranges, strawberries, mangoes, avocado, broccoli, carrots, etc to improve skin elasticity and prevent it from sagging.
