How Sun Effects The Skin
As it is summer, your skin tans quickly when exposed to the scorching rays of the sun. This is why, you always try to protect your skin while stepping out of the house. Think why scarves, hats, umbrellas and sunglasses are always with you. To prevent the skin from tanning and causing damage to your complexion. It is believed that sun rays are a source of Vitamin D. However, over exposure can be dangerous for your skin. The sun rays have more effects on the skin than just tanning. So, to save the skin from the ultraviolet rays, you get many sun protective lotions in the market. Find out how sun rays effect your skin.
Rough skin: Sun rays penetrate deep into your skin thus damaging collagen cells. This makes the skin dry and rough. The sun rays also absorbs moisture from the skin cells which damages the smoothness. Once the collagen is damaged, it doesn't repair easily. The cells can repair within months or years.

Wrinkles: This is one of the common effects of the sun on your skin. When the collagen gets damaged, the skin becomes rough and the moisture is also lost. This results in the formation of wrinkles. Shockingly, 75-80 per cent of the skin aging is due to the ultraviolet sun rays.
Sun spots: Apart from tanning, your skin gets dark sun spots due to over exposure. These spots appear on the skin that is exposed regularly for hours. Small black round spots on the cheeks or arms and feet are sun spots. In some cases, sun spots and freckles occur together. This is a common skin problem faced by people who sun bathe regularly. These dark spots and freckles are early symptoms of wrinkles.
Sun tan: Sun tans are a sign to show the damages of the ultraviolet rays on your skin. When your skin is exposed to the sun, the melanocyte cells produce melanin, a pigment that produces dark spots on the skin. Sun tan if not cured can turn into a sun burn in the later stages.
Sun burn: Over exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun causes sun burn. The rays penetrate into the deep skin layers thus burning the living skin cells. To repair this skin damage, blood flow increases in the burned areas thus causing redness and bumps. Do not take sun burn lightly. Damage can be difficult to cure if not cared for immediately.
Blackheads: Severe sun burn can cause blackheads. These blackheads are more visible on the nose tip and forehead. Over exposure to sun rays causes blackheads on the face.
These are few adverse effects of the sun rays on your skin. To have a clean and clear skin, avoid over exposure. Take precautions and treat skin problems before it is too late.
