Choosing The Right Moisturiser - Tips

Moisturiser
Before you plan use any skin care product there are certain rules to be followed. Buying an expensive cosmetic brand that advertises a hundred times will not fetch the results that you are looking for. There are some moisturisers that have zero publicity but are very effective on face. Take a look for the tips for choosing a ideal moisturiser.

Choosing The Right Moisturiser And Skin Care Tips

1. Check the lables: Your moisturiser should be paraben free (paraben causes breast cancer). Also oil free, non comedogenic and non-acnegenic. Oil based products are comedogenic, they look greasy on face, clog pores and attract dirt. The clogged pores cause acne and make skin look discoloured. Do not choose strong fragrant creams.

What Should It Contain: The best moisturiser such also have cleansing and exfoliating properties. The retinol, alpha hydroxy acid and salicyclic acid combination helps in skin repair.

Never forget to check for the date of expiry.

2. SPF And Skin Type – Some moisturisers are manufactured according to skin types. Oily skin should prefer water based quick drying creams while dry and combination skin can go for thicker and denser creams. Sensitive skin types need to choose products that are less fragrant as it may irritate and burn their dry skin.
To protect your skin from harsh UV radiation, you will require SPF. A sunscreen moisturiser needs to be applied twice daily to prevent aging and skin cancer.

3. Your Dermatologist Knows Everything – Seek the doctor's help if you aren't very convinced with the brands available in stores. The medically proven lotion, soaps and moisturisers will be percribed for special skin care.

Never get flattered by the brands and attractive bottles, choose the product that you feel suits your skin. Even natural homemade moisturisers are good options as they are chemical free.

4. How & When To Apply – Everytime you wash face with soap, you will have to apply it to keep it hydrated and nourished. Just a pea size of moisturiser is spread on palms and then gently massaged on face.

To start with, you would need to apply on cheeks as it will be very dry and then move on to forehead, nose and chin.
