Men Become Beauty Conscious!

The modern day Australian men are very conscious about the way they look. In the process, they end up spending thousands of dollars from their pockets. The metro sexual males reap more than 1 billion dollars for the hair and beauty salon industry in the 2009-2010 financial year.

Lyndsay Smith, senior stylist in Toni&Guy said that men account for 40 per cent of his clientèle. Males pay 100 dollars every four to six weeks to keep their hairdos fresh. Rather than going for a long and shaggy look, men prefer to stick to clean and tight haircut.

Men are definitely much more informed than five years ago. Studies have shown that men's expenditure on cosmetics had sky rocketed from 5 million dollars to 48.8 million dollars a year from in just two decades.

Presentation is everything. Hair is the second most important thing after skin care, says a 18 year old.
