Kitchen Ingredients To Use On Hair Damaged By Styling Tools
In our busy schedules, we just can't escape heat styling our hair. It gets the job of hair drying or styling done really fast. But, what about the damage it causes to the hair? Fortunately, you can use kitchen ingredients to treat heat-damaged hair.
The quick result of heat styling may be smooth, perfect hair; however, in the long run, it can be quite damaging for the hair.
Of course, we all love the perfect flawless look we get after blow-drying. Or what about sleek and straight hair from an iron?
They are all great looks that we just can't stay away from recreating at home. After all, no one likes to go to the saloon all the time to get the desired look, right? It can be really expensive and there's quite a lot of time wasted on travelling as well.
But of course, saloons use a lot of techniques to protect the hair from heat damage. Techniques we may not be aware of.
And we may even think that the damage from heat-styling tools is not that serious, till we see hair that is dull and brittle.
The damage is usually more concentrated on the ends, so focussing on those areas while using kitchen ingredients can do us a lot of good.
1. Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is one of the richest oils there is. It penetrates deep into the scalp to give moisture and even nourishes the brittle ends. Warm coconut oil is the best way you could protect your heat-damaged hair to a great extent.
2. Butter
: Butter is an odd remedy, yes. But it's extremely nourishing for heat-damaged hair from using a blow dryer too much. It restores moisture and shine to the hair after just one use. Just use it on the ends and areas that have been damaged.
3. Aloe Vera Gel:
Since aloe vera gel is such a great source of moisture, it is great to fix heat-damaged hair. Just use this on your hair before or even after a shower. It dries up so quickly, so there's no need to wash it off.
4. Coconut Milk:
Just like coconut oil, the milk derived from coconuts can be used for treating damaged hair from heat-styling tools. Massage coconut milk into the length of your hair as a pre-shower conditioner and then wash it to get that softer, shinier hair. This is a perfect kitchen ingredient to treat hair that is damaged by styling tools.
5. Castor Oil:
Castor oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, which are extremely beneficial for brittle hair. This is definitely the best kitchen ingredient to deal with heat-damaged hair.
6. Vitamin E Oil:
Vitamin E is really good for the skin and hair, when ingested. But, the oil can be used topically too, to treat heat-damaged hair. Just use the oil from vitamin E capsules on the areas damaged by heat to get healthier hair in no time.
7. Olive Oil:
Olive oil is an oil that is suited even for really sensitive skin types. And it's available in all kitchens! Use warm olive oil to massage your scalp and pay extra attention to the ends. Regular usage would reveal perfect, healthy hair.
8. Cocoa Butter:
We have all heard of the benefits of using cocoa butter for our skin. But most ingredients used for good skin double up as great ingredients for damaged hair. Use this on your hair ends, as an all-natural conditioner to treat heat-damaged hair from a curling or a straightening iron.
