Do Not Shave Before A Pedicure
Should you shave before getting a pedicure? Definitely not. Researchers have found that many women who wanted to have a pedicure done, had shaved their legs before this process.
This resulted in scratchs and wounds, which led to wounds and pus-filled bumps due to infection.
Also the perfumed creams and exfoliating beads used for pedicure can cause irritation to the skin, after being shaved. Do not shave your legs at-least 24 hours before pedicure.

Proper Sanitation
Make sure proper sanitation is maintained by the spa for the pedicure. The tubs should be properly cleaned and disinfected.
Sterilized & Clean Tools
Make sure to find out if the tools being used for your pedicure and well sterilized and clean. Do not hesitate to ask for it. Most spas are well equipped with the pedicure tools and also have a sterilizer.
Make sure that the beautician freshly removes the pedicure tools from the sterilizer to use on your feet and legs. If you are reluctant to ask so, it is better you carry your own tools.
Disinfectants
One of the important tips before pedicure is to make sure what disinfectants are being used in the foot spa. The disinfectants should be EPA-approved and should have a label approving it for hospital use.

Apply Moisturiser To Nourish Skin & Nails
Apply a good moisturiser to your nails and the skin around your nails well in advance before a pedicure because during the pedicure process, the nail-polish removers can make your nails and the skin around your nails dry due to the chemicals present in them.
Take An Appointment
If you are planning to get your pedicure done in a spa or parlour, make sure you take an appointment beforehand. This will help you from waiting long hours. The most important part is that the beautician will find time to keep all the tools and necessary items sterilized, clean and ready for you.
Razors For Calluses
If the spa uses razors for calluses, deny them because the credo blade can cut healthy skin, causing foot damage.
