Ways To Use Henna For Great Nails
The moment you mention the word henna, pictures of celebration flash before your eyes. Be it a festival, marriage or a small family gathering, henna occupies a special place. Basically, henna application comes up with everything joyful and merry.
Women decorate their hands and feet with a variety of designs. There are special artists hired to apply henna and each woman wants her henna colour to turn out to be the best. Along with the hands and feet, henna for nails is also a must.
WAYS TO STYLE YOUR NAILS THIS MONSOON
Today, henna for nails comes mostly as an accompaniment to the henna on the hands. However, since ancient times, henna has been used for the nails, not just for beauty purpose but also as a nail strengthener. Yes, you have heard it right. Henna for nails!
We have always heard about the benefits of henna for providing health and lustre to the hair but for nails? Nail care with henna is a sure and natural way to go. In every aspect of life, increasing number of people are seen to go back to nature. Chemically produced goods are taking a backseat and gifts from nature are coming to the fore. Same goes for henna. Here we discuss some of the benefits of henna for nails and the method to apply it.
Benefits of henna for nails
Natural colour: This is definitely one of the plus points of using henna as a colour for the nails. Although it stays for a long time and cannot be changed like the store bought nail colours, the aspect of being all natural and safe cannot be ignored here. There is hardly any chance of it causing harm or reaction to anyone. The shade can be controlled from a light orange to a very dark brown.
Nail strengthener: Like skin and hair, the nails also consist of protein material called keratin. Due to this reason, henna tends to ‘stain’ the nails similar to the skin and hair. It binds with the keratin strands and works towards binding and strengthening of the nails. This all-natural nail care with henna surpasses every other man made nail strengthening product.
Fungal protection: When a product promises to strengthen nails, why not use it. Henna is one such product for the nails. It also helps fight fungal infections. In olden times, women had to work in fields with bare hands. Being prone to various kinds of infections was quite obvious. With nails coated with henna, they can keep all infections at bay.
Henna gives us beautiful natural coloured nails which get strengthened and protected along the way. Henna powder comes from the leaves of a flowering tree. But how does one apply henna? Follow the steps given below:
a) Prepare a paste of henna, water and lemon juice. It should be thick enough to be applied with ease.
b) Neither very runny nor very solid.
c) Clean and file your nails.
d) Push back all cuticles.
e) Apply a layer of petroleum jelly around the nails to avoid the skin getting stained.
f) Apply the henna paste on the nails.
g) Allow the paste to dry. You can cover the finger tips once the henna is dry.
h) When dry, it should come off easily. The longer it stays, the darker colour you get.
i) When you remove the henna layer from the nails, you will notice a nice orange shade on your nails.
This is the colour of nature that promises to take care of your nails also. Henna for nails is a great way to add colour, beauty and nourishment to the nails. Use henna and be safe the natural way.
