This Is What You Should Do to Your Skin This Winter
Here are tips on how to manage your skin better this winter season. Take a look.
Winter is the season where you can have the biggest fun of the year. You can eat anything, wear colourful dresses; winter means parties and picnics and obviously, Christmas and the New Year.
But, winter doesn’t come with all bliss. It brings no fun for your skin. The cool winter breeze makes your skin dry and as a result, you get cracked feet, freckled skin, chapped lips and much more.
To many people, winter is the season of different types of eczema and skin diseases. Therefore, if you don’t take good care of your skin during winter, it would look horrible.
Winter skin care doesn’t start when winter arrives. It should start much before, which means you don’t need to wait particularly for December and must plan beforehand.
People who are very cautious about their skin always do that. However, we have also listed some effective tips for you to take a good care of your skin when cold breeze plays havoc. Take a look.
1. Avoid Hot Water:
Steam bath or hot water bath feels so comfortable in winter, right? But, it makes your skin even drier than before. Not only for your skin, but hot water is also not good for your hair, as it makes your scalp dry and causes dandruff. Always use lukewarm water during winter.
2. Make Friendship With Moisturiser:
This is a standing advice for winter. You should use a moisturiser according to your skin type. Apply it on damp skin, so that it can lock the natural moisture of your skin and your skin remains soft and supple.
3. Cover It Up:
Do you spend a lot of time outside? Then, try to keep the open portion of your body covered. Use colourful mittens, scarves and socks, as they keep your skin covered and you can be fashionable too.
4. Exfoliate Your Skin:
Many of you may think scrubbing during winter makes your skin drier. But, that is not true. Winter is the time when you suffer from dead skin cells the most. Exfoliation thrice a week is very important to get rid of the dead skin and retain the glow of your skin. Don't forget to apply moisturiser afterwards.
5. Drink Plenty Of Fluids:
Taking care of your skin is not only a process from outside. You have to take care from the inside too. Drink enough fluids to keep your body hydrated and flush out all toxins. Winter is also the season of juicy fruits. Have oranges, apples, pears, etc., to keep your body hydrated.
6. Chuck Out Your Cleanser:
Cleanser makes your skin drier on winter days. Check out if your cleanser contains salicylic or glycolic acid or not. If it does, you should avoid it completely during the winter season, as these ingredients can make your skin drier and flaky.
7. Go For Homemade Masks:
Many of you often ask what the best mask for winter is. You should seek help to such components that can moisturise your skin from deep within and maintain the natural glow of your skin. Incorporate honey, glycerin, avocado, banana, olive oil, yogurt, etc., in your DIY masks.
These are certain tips you should follow to keep your skin glowing even on rough and windy wintery days. Take care of your skin and you will look glamorous for any upcoming party.
