Id-ul-Zuha/Bakrid Message From Indian Leaders

President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice President M. Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh greeted the people on the occasion.
With the Kashmir Valley returning to normalcy from the recent unrest, people are joyously celebrating Id-ul-Zuha.
Id-ul-Zuha/Bakrid message from Indian leaders, goes thus:
President Patil in her message greeted the people thus: “On the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-zuha, I convey my cordial greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens and to my Muslim brothers and sisters in particular."
“May the festival bring all the communities and religions of India together in a celebration of our composite culture and civilization," she added.
Vice President Ansari, in his message, reminded the spirit of sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, which, instills the hearts of people with compassion and love, and also to serve the poor and the needy.
He urged people to celebrate this festival with joy of sharing, charity and serve the cause of humanity.
Dr. Manmohan Singh in his message said that Id-ul-Zuha is an occasion to commemorate the spirit of supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim. The festival teaches us to be humble, charitable and to work for the greater good of humankind.
May the Id-ul-Zuha/Bakrid message (from Indian leaders) stir the hearts to work towards harmony.
