Side Effects Of A Tubectomy
Tubectomy is a permanent way of birth control and sterilization for women. In this, the Fallopian tubes are blocked, so that the eggs are prevented from travelling to the uterus from the ovary for fertilization. There are many advantages for this surgery like small incisions, easy and fast access to the Fallopian tubes and easy recovery. But, some side effects of a tubectomy should also be in consideration, if you are opting for tubectomy as a birth control measure.
Even though the chances of getting pregnant are less after the blockage of Fallopian tube, certain other common side effects of a tubectomy may make the condition bad. If you notice any difficulties after the surgical procedure, seek medical advice at the earliest. Early diagnosis will help resolve the problem easily and quickly. Abdominal pain: Abdominal pain is generally not directly related to the surgical procedure. It may arise due to infections, which may occur as side effects of a tubectomy. Abdominal pain will generally be focused on the lower portion.
Perforation of Fallopian tube: This is due to accidental tearing of Fallopian tube during the surgical procedure. This may lead to haemorrhage, which is one of the side effects of a tubectomy. Report if you experience abdominal pain or fever after the surgery.
