A new research says that the way you look at others around defines how happy and emotionally stable you actually are. This study was conducted by Peter Harms at the university of Nebraska and Simine Vazire of Washington University in St Louis. On the whole when the study was done the team discovered that the strong associations between positively judging others and how enthusiastic, happy, kind-hearted, courteous, emotionally stable and capable the person describes oneself and is described by others.

Wood stated that, “'Seeing others positively reveals our own positive traits." He further added ,"The simple tendency to see people negatively indicates a greater likelihood of depression and various personality disorders ." in contrast to negative perceptions of others are linked to the higher levels of narcissism and anti social behaviour.

The research that was conducted suggested that when you ask someone to rate the personality of particular co-worker or acquaintance, you may possibly learn as much about the rater by providing of the personality description as the person they are describing.
