Windows and window grills are portions of your house that are exposed constantly to the outside dust and environmental pollution.

Therefore, it is important to keep your windows and window grills clean for a healthy and beautiful home. While you can clean your window pane easily, window grills needs some extra tips and tricks which will make your task easier.

Tips To Clean Your Window Grills

Brushing: Get a soft bristle brush and brush off the dust and dirt that is attached to your window grills. You may use a duster or soft cloth for this. Removing dust from the grills before wiping or washing with water is very important to make the cleaning process easier.

Wiping: After brushing off the dust from the window grills, apply a mild solution of detergent on it. Gently wipe off it with a cloth taking care not to make scratches on the surface. You may use an old sock or a cotton cloth. Use strong detergents if the dust is sticky.

Water and vinegar: Using water and vinegar solution for cleaning your window grills is very effective if the grills are not too much dusty. Unlike soap or detergent it will not leave any marks or spots on your grills.

No abrasives: Do not try to use any abrasives to clean your window grills to remove any sticky materials. This will leave scratches on your windows and will spoil the whole look. Instead, try to find out the nature of the sticky material and use any counteracting materials.

Sock gloves: Try wearing a cotton sock on your hand instead of using a cloth to wipe your window grills. This will make your task easier than you imagine. It is effective mainly when there is less dust or dirt on your window grills.

Hot water: Hot water is excellent to remove oil or any sticky materials from your window grills. This is helpful especially while you clean your kitchen window pane and window grills. Soak a cotton cloth in hot water and wipe the window grills with it.

No chemicals: There is no need of any harsh chemicals on your window grills to remove dust. Avoid strong chemicals especially if you have an iron window grills as it has a tendency to rust. Use only mild detergent wherever possible.
