Try These Home Remedies & Get Rid Of Tonsillitis In A Day
Itchy throat, red swelling of the tonsils accompanied by severe pain are a few of the common symptoms one can feel when one develops tonsillitis. This affects your talking and also makes it difficult for you to eat and drink as well.
Further, as the case gets worse, one develops fever, headache, bad breath and difficulty in sleeping. So what exactly is tonsillitis and how do we get rid of it?

Tonsillitis in general is the inflammation of tonsils caused by certain types of viral or bacterial infection. It is generally caused when the toxins get accumulated in the body when there is an excess consumption of greasy fried foods, foods prepared from white flour, cold and frozen food items and sweets.
It is a common phenomena to resort to painkillers and antibiotics as soon as we develop the symptoms of tonsillitis. But are these medications safe? There have been a lot of instances where people have developed side effects after consuming these.

For tonsillitis, one of the best treatments available is home remedies. They are easily available at one's home and have no side effects.
Here is a list of home remedies that will help to get rid of tonsillitis in one day. Take a look.
1. Salt & Water:
The first thing one needs to do is to take lukewarm water, add half a teaspoon of salt, mix it and gargle as many times as possible. This helps in providing immediate relief from tonsillitis.
2. Turmeric Powder:
Turmeric powder is known to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Take half a teaspoon of turmeric, mix it with a glass of warm milk and a bit of black pepper. Drink this at bedtime. This helps to soothe the tonsils.
3. Neem Powder:
Take a few pinches of neem powder, turmeric powder, salt and a glass of water and then boil it for a few minutes. Allow it to cool for a while and once it is warm enough to be put in your mouth, gargle with it at least 3-4 times a day. It gives quick relief.
4. Basil:
Basil has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties; hence, it is known to provide immediate relief from tonsillitis. Boil 10-15 basil leaves for about 5 minutes, strain it and allow it to cool till it is warm enough to drink. Add one teaspoon of honey. Drink it 3-4 times a day.
5. Bark Of Babool Tree:
Babool is known to help fight pain. In case of tonsillitis take the bark of babool tree, put it in water and boil it for a while. Allow it to cool for a while and once it is warm enough to be put in your mouth, gargle with it at least 3-4 times a day.
6. Chamomile tea:
Boil water, add a teaspoon of chamomile tea powder, strain it and then add a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice. Drink this tea atleast 3-4 times a day. It helps to get rid of tonsillitis quickly.
7. Cinnamon:
Cinnamon helps to prevent the growth of bacteria around the tonsils and reduces the pain, inflammation and swelling. In a glass of warm water mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and honey each. Drink this mixture 3-4 times a day; it gives instant relief.
8. Fenugreek seeds:
Take about 2-3 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and add it to a jar of boiling water. Allow it to cool till it turns warm enough to be used for gargling. Gargle as many a times you can. This helps to get rid of tonsillitis quickly.
