Radha Jayanti 2023: Puja Rituals, Worship Method
On the morning of Radha Jayanti, devotees begin the day with a ritual bath. Then, the idol of goddess Radha is bathed with panchamrita (a concoction of milk, sugar, honey, yogurt, and ghee) in homes and temples. The idol is dressed in new attire and jewelry. Puja is performed, mantras are chanted, and flowers and fruits are offered to the goddess. In the end, bhog is offered.

This day celebrates Radha's birth and her divine love for Lord Krishna, which is considered the highest form of 'bhakti' or devotion. She is often represented as the epitome of love in Hinduism. On this day women observe fast and refrain from consuming food and water till noon. Also, they visit temples dedicated to Radha and Krishna, offer prayers, and sing devotional songs.

On this day, priests, and devotees read religious texts dedicated to Radha and Krishna, and in some regions, swings (jhulas) are decorated and set up which symbolizes the playful interactions between Radha and Krishna. Married couples also seek their blessings to have a blissful life.
