When Is Holashtak 2024? The month of Phalgun has started from Sunday, 25 February and it will end with Holi on 25th March. Holashtak is observed for 8 days before Holi.
According to this, Holashtak will fall on 17 March 2024. After the beginning of Holashtak, doing any auspicious or auspicious work is prohibited.

According to the Panchang, Holashtak falls on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month, 8 days before Holi. During these days, auspicious activities like marriage, naming ceremonies, tonsure, etc. are banned. Holika Dahan is performed on the day of Phalgun Purnima. This year Holika Dahan will be done on 24th March and Holi will be played with colors Gulal Abir from the morning of 25 March.
It is believed that during Holashtak all the planets become furious by nature. For this reason, no auspicious work should be done at this time. At that time there is a possibility of obstruction or hindrance. Also, the desired result of any auspicious work is not achieved. Holashtak 2024: Know What To Do And What Not To Do
• Puja has special significance during Holashtak. During this time people should also do chanting and penance. At the time of Holashtak, one should worship Lord Vishnu and one's favorite deities as per the rituals. One attains happiness, peace, wealth, and prosperity.
• During Holashtak, we should donate to the poor or needy and give love to those younger than us and respect to those older than us. It is believed that Holashtak is the period in which Hiranyakashyap tortured his son Prahlad. Therefore, at this time we should give respect to the elders and affection to the younger ones. By doing this the honor and prestige increase.
• During Holashtak, one should worship Lord Rama and Lord Krishna Vasudev daily by applying Abeer Gulal and reciting Sri Sukta.
• In Holashtak, worship Lord Bholenath daily with the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, which will remove diseases, defects, and sufferings. The situation of distress will end.
• During Holashtak, no auspicious work like marriage, housewarming, naming, tonsure etc. should be done. Because it was time to torture Prahlad.
• Do not make any kind of deal related to land or house during Holashtak. Nor do Bhoomi Pujan. Avoid advance booking and advance payment. There will be a possibility of losing money.
• Do not perform or participate in religious rituals like Yagya Havan during Holashtak. There is a hindrance in achieving the full results of the rituals performed in Holashtak and the complete offering is not completed.
• No new business or trade should be started during Holashtak. It is considered inauspicious to do so. Due to this, your work cannot continue for a long time.
• Buying any kind of new items like gold, silver, electronic, mobile, watch, TV, and household items in Holashtak is also considered inauspicious.
