The festival of Baisakhi is very important from all three points of view, social, cultural, and economic. This holy festival is one of the three festivals that were celebrated by the third Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Amardas. Apart from this, the festival of Baisakhi is considered the last symbol of the harvest season, which is especially a time of prosperity for the farming class. This holy festival is celebrated with great pomp mainly in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.

In fact, by the month of Vaishakh, the Rabi crops become completely ripe and its harvesting starts with it. In such a situation, on this day, people thank God for the joy of returning home after harvesting the crop safely and worship the grains as per rituals. This is known as Satuan in Bihar. The tradition of eating Sattu on this day has been going on in Bihar for centuries.

People of the Sikh community celebrate the holy festival of Baisakhi as the New Year. There is a special belief behind the celebration of this festival that on 13 April 1699, the tenth Guru of the Sikh sect, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, had established the Khalsa Panth. According to the belief of Sanatan Dharma, on this day the Sun leaves Pisces and enters Aries. On this day, Lord Sun God and Lakshmi Narayan are worshiped with special rituals, which is considered very auspicious. This brings happiness, peace, and prosperity and makes one fortunate.

People from the Sikh community celebrate the holy festival of Baisakhi with great pomp and joy. On this day the place of Guru Granth Sahib Ji is purified with milk. After this, the holy book is kept in its place along with the crown. During this period, special care is taken of the purity of one's body and the cleanliness of hands. Only after that, the holy book is read. During this time, all the followers listen to the Guru's sermon very attentively. Amrit is also prepared for the devotees on the holy festival of Baisakhi, which is later given to everyone in the form of Prasad. According to the special tradition of the Sikh community, the followers stand in a queue and consume the nectar five times. Then after Ardaas, Prasad is offered to the Guru and distributed among the entire group of followers.
