Weekly Vrat and Festivals In August 2023: India is always decked up in festivals and important events and August month is no different. The month of August is full of celebrations and festivals across India. These festivals are famous and are celebrated at a grand level.
Sawan Month, which is considered one of the holy and auspicious months in the Hindu calendar started in July and will continue till August. In this month, the festivals and vrats will be observed with equal enthusiasm.

This is the second phase of Sawan and it is considered important for people who worship Lord Shiva. Also, auspicious yogas will form during this period. Let us know which major fasts and festivals are going to come in the second week of August 2023, i.e. from 7 August to 13 August.

1. August 7, 2023, Monday - Fifth Sawan Monday
On Mondays of Sawan, fasting is observed in Shiva worship and Shiva Parvati is anointed and worshipped with full devotion.
2. 8 August 2023, Tuesday - Mangala Gauri Vrat, Kalashtami
On this day women keep a fast in worship of Goddess Gauri and Goddess Parvati. Mangala Gauri Vrat is observed for a happy married life and to remove obstacles from marriage.
3. August 12, 2023, Saturday - Purushottam Ekadashi
Two Ekadashi fasts are observed every month in the worship of Vishnu. Purushottam Ekadashi fast will be observed on 12 August.
4. 13 August 2023, Sunday - Ravi Pradosh Vrat
The third Pradosh Vrat of Sawan is going to be held on 13th August. It falls on Trayodashi Tithi. As it will be observed on a Sunday, it will be called Ravi Pradosh Vrat.
