July is here and so is monsoon. This month brings with it its own set of beauty and blossoms. This month is also significant from the religious point of view because it marks the onset of Sawan month in Hinduism and Chaturmaas.
This year's two-month-long Sawan will begin in July which is dear to Lord Shiva. Along with this, Chaturmas will start in the month of July itself, in which Lord Vishnu will go to sleep and for the next few months, all auspicious works will be banned.

2 July (Sunday) - Kokila Vrat
Kokila Vrat is observed on Chaturdashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. Worshipping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati on this day brings happiness and prosperity in life.
3 July (Monday) - Ashada Purnima, Guru Purnima
The festival of Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon date of the month of Ashadha. This day holds special importance for bathing, charity and meditation. This day is also known as Ashadhi Purnima and Vyas Purnima.
4 July (Tuesday) - Sawan begins, First Mangala Gauri fast
This year the month of Sawan is going to start from 4 July. The first Mangala Gauri fast will also be observed on this day. On this day, Mata Gauri is wished for the long life of Suhag. Significantly, Mangala Gauri Vrat is observed on all Tuesdays of the month of Sawan.
6 July (Thursday) - Gajanan Sankashti Chaturthi
Gajanan Sankashti of Sawan month is falling on 06 July 2023. The month of Sawan is dedicated to Bholenath, Chaturthi Tithi to his son Ganesh. In such a situation, the devotees who fast and worship on this day will get the blessings of both Lord Shiva and Ganapati.
9 July (Sunday) - Kalashtami, Bhanu Saptami
According to the Hindu calendar, the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of every month is the auspicious day of Kalashtami. Bhairav Dev is worshipped on this day. Bhanu Saptami is also falling on 9 July.
