The Moment Of Closeness
Om Sai Ram, It often seems as if devotees, both in India and abroad feel that the world is not getting to know and to acknowledge swami as quickly as they think, that should happen,as they try to think of ways of spreading about Him.
If someone were to ask you what you thought was Swami's greatest miracle, I wonder what you would say for, for we have all heard tell of many astonishing leelas that He has performed.
One day I heard this on a Sai programme in the Radio. Swami Himself asked his students this very question and they suggested a number of miracles of different kinds that they knew about, or had witnessed. As always when Swami puts a question, the answer He has in mind is different from what we are thinking.
On this occasion He answered the question, thus surprising all students, He said that Swamis greatest miracle is that He has kept Himself secret from most of the world for so long. He went on to say that if everyone were to flock at once to Prashanthi Nilayam or Brindavan, there simply would not be room or accommodation or food for them all, and so Swami had to make His presence on the earth a secret in order to control this situation.
Now we are approaching the time when the greater crowds will flood into the Ashrams and one day Swami will have to fulfill His prophecy of walking across the sky to give Darshan. However, He once said to a devotee, who had not been to visit India for about ten years and yet found himself in the front row, and even called in for interview,"There will always be moment of closeness." Let that be comfort to us all. Sai Ram
