Sawan Adhikmaas 2023: The month of Sawan has started according to the Hindu calendar. There is a lot of enthusiasm here regarding the month of Sawan as it is the favourite month of Lord Shiva. The beginning of Malmas or Adhikamas will start on 18 July 2023 and will continue till 16 August 2023.

Sawan will be celebrated in two phases this time. In this, the first 15 days of Sawan will be of Krishna Paksha and the second 15 days will be of Shukla Paksha. The first phase of Sawan will be from 4 July to 17 July and two fasts will be observed on Mondays.
The first fast will be observed on 10 July and the second fast will be observed on 17 July. The second phase of Sawan will be from 17 August to 31 August. In this phase, Sawan Mondays will fall on 21 August and 28 August.
How Long Will Adhikamas 2023 Be?
Adhikamas will begin in the month of Sawan itself. Adhikamas will start on 18 July and will end on 16 August.
What Is An Additional Month In Sawan 2023?
According to the Hindu calendar, once every three years, an additional month comes which is called Adhikamas. It is also called Purushottam month. Worship lessons and religious activities are of great importance this month.
The special importance of Adhik maas has been explained in Hinduism. There is a special benefit of doing Rudrabhishek during this time due to the excess month in the month of Sawan.
