Sawan First Pradosh Vrat 2023: The month of Sawan is going on and everyone is engrossed in the devotion of Shiva. Although every day of Sawan is very special, Mondays of Sawan, Mangala Gauri Vrat, Shivratri and Pradosh Vrat become even more special.

On the day of Sawan Pradosh Vrat, one needs to anoint Lord Shiva using sandalwood, hemp, dhatura fruit, and Belpatra. It is said that by doing this, Lord Shiva bestows special blessings on his devotees and fulfils their wishes. But, on the day of the Sawan Pradosh fast, anoint Lord Shiva with honey, as by doing so, you will get rid of problems in life.

According to the Hindu calendar, Sawan Pradosh Vrat will be observed on the Trayodashi day of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Shravan. It is going to fall on Saturday, hence it is also being called Shani Pradosh Vrat.

First Pradosh Vrat of Sawan 2023: Date and Muhurta
Krishna Paksha Trayodashi Tithi of Sawan will begin at 07:17 pm on Friday, 14 July 2023. The date will end at 08:32 pm on Saturday, 15 July 2023. Considering Udaya Tithi, Pradosh Vrat will be celebrated on Saturday, 15 July 2023.

The Puja Muhurta for Pradosh Vrat will begin from 7:21 pm to 9:24 pm on 15 July 2023. On this day, Vriddhi Yoga will begin from 08:28 am while Rohini Nakshatra will remain till 10:27 pm.

According to religious beliefs, worshipping Mahadev and performing Rudrabhishek on the day of the Sawan Pradosh fast can atone for all sins. It gives freedom from problems, gets rid of obstacles coming in success and wins over enemies. One gets freedom from diseases and happiness and prosperity come in life. On the day of the Pradosh vrat, one can get the blessing of lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

According to Panchang, 24 Pradosh Vrats are observed in a year. This year there will be 26 Pradosh Vrats due in one more month. The second Pradosh fast of Sawan month will be observed on 30 July 2023.
