Mauni Amavasya 2024 Dos and Don'ts: Mauni Amavasya has a very special significance in Hinduism. The literal meaning of Mauni is silence, Mauni Amavasya fast is observed to attain peace of mind and speech. On this day people also observe the fast of silence.
This year Mauni Amavasya will be celebrated on 9 February 2024. Along with this, bathing and donating on the day of Amavasya has special significance. According to mythological beliefs, on this day the water of holy rivers becomes like nectar, hence taking a bath in them is considered best. Let us know what to do and what not to do on the day of Mauni Amavasya.

Mauni Amavasya 2024: Dos
1. According to Hinduism, Mauni Amavasya falls in the Krishna Paksha of Magh month is called Maghi or Mauni Amavasya. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day. On the day of Mauni Amavasya, rituals are also performed to attain the salvation of ancestors.
2. On the day of Mauni Amavasya, one takes a bath considering water as nectar. We worship by purifying our body and mind and fasting also has special significance in many areas. On this day, after worshiping Lord Vishnu Narayan, they also chant the mantras of Shri Hari.
3. Engaging in spiritual activities also has special significance on this day. Therefore, one can donate sesame laddus, oil, blankets, grains, etc. to the needy.
4. On this day, women should worship sitting under the Peepal tree. After the puja, circumambulate the Peepal tree.
5. On the day of Mauni Amavasya fast, be filled with spiritual energy from body and mind and be as pure as possible. Wear clean clothes.
Mauni Amavasya 2024: Don'ts
1. The individual observing Mauni Amavasya fast should remain silent. On this day. one should concentrate with body and mind on spiritual activities.
2. Refrain from watching any kind of movies and music and also from negative influences.
3. Let love and devotion flow in your mind and stay away from negative thoughts as well as materialistic pleasures.
4. You need to follow complete celibacy on this day, so do not engage in intimate activities.
