Maha Shivratri 2024: How To Spot The Difference Between Real And Fake Rudraksha
Rudraksha has special importance for those who follow Sanatan Dharma. In Sanatan Dharma, Rudraksh is seen as associated with Lord Shiva. Whoever wears Rudraksha, his planets and constellations improve and he gets auspicious results.
Wearing Rudraksha also helps in controlling various types of diseases. Such as blood pressure, sugar, heart-related, mental stress, anxiety, weak memory, etc.

But sometimes playing with faith is also done. Big and small traders across the country sell Bhadraksh instead of Rudraksh. This Bhadraksha is considered to be fake Rudraksha.
A study has found that mostly fake Rudraksha is being sold in religious places spread in different areas of the country. 33 species of Rudraksha are found in India. Most of the Rudraksha below three Mukhi and above seven Mukhi being sold in the market are fake.
How To Spot The Difference Between Real And Fake Rudraksha
Scientists have considered the Rudraksh of Eleiocarpus ganitrus species to be pure and the Rudraksh of Eleiocarpus lacunosus species as fake. Artificial Rudraksha are made of plastic fiber and are being sold in the markets.
The study revealed that traders are selling wood by making new Rudraksha designs by designing them in the shape of Rudraksha and also by joining broken Rudrakshas.
Let us know how to differentiate between Rudraksha and Bhadraksha.
• The genuine Rudraksha have holes naturally in them and the holes in the fake Rudraksha are prepared separately.
• To test the real Rudraksha, its color should not be lost by immersing it in mustard oil. Whereas fake Rudraksha loses its color when dipped in oil.
• If you put a real Rudraksh in water, it sinks and if you put a fake Rudraksh in water, it starts floating.
• To identify the real Rudraksha, a thread starts coming out from the Rudraksha by rubbing it on any sharp object or wall. On the other hand, by rubbing fake Rudraksha, fine particles start breaking and falling out of it.
