Lunar Eclipse On Holi 2024: Should You Play Holi On Chandra Grahan? If Not, Why?
Eclipse is considered very important and interesting in astronomy. However, according to astrology, eclipse is considered negative. The sutak period starts during the solar or lunar eclipse, due to which any auspicious work, worship or even eating water and food is prohibited at that time.
This year i.e. in 2024, the first lunar eclipse of this year is going to occur on the day of Holi. The festival of Holi will be celebrated on March 25 and a lunar eclipse is also going to occur on the occasion of Phalgun Purnima. Lunar Eclipse 2024: Date And Time
The first lunar eclipse of the year is going to last from 10:23 am to 03:02 pm IST on 25 March. According to astrology, this lunar eclipse is going to be a penumbral eclipse. In a penumbral lunar eclipse, the color of the moon becomes dull. Along with this, the Moon does not appear to be cut off and the Earth's direct shadow does not fall on the Moon. In this the Moon appears blurred, this is called a penumbral lunar eclipse.
Can You Play Holi On Lunar Eclipse?
Sutak period is not valid due to penumbral lunar eclipse. For this reason, there will be no bad impact on Holika Dahan and Holi festivals and the festival can be celebrated easily.
Will India Witness Lunar eclipse?
India will not be able to witness Lunar Eclipse. It will be visible from parts of North-East Asia, Europe, Australia, America, Japan, Russia, Ireland, England, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Ocean.
